Job Description


Roles and responsibilities

  • Providing technical support to teams within the organization, and to external clients when required.
  • Assisting with systems integrations.
  • Managing and handling the open tickets through ticketing system.
  • Maintaining and updating technical documents and procedures.
  • Identifying and resolving technical issues.
  • Managing coordination at a local and international level where required.
  • Preparing maintenance plans and upgrading schedules for the organization’s systems.
  • Developing reports for teams across the business.
  • Providing software application support.
  • Performing analyses on software application functionality and suggesting improvements.
  • Ensuring effective front-end and back-end functionality of applications.
  • Consulting with the software development team, internal users, and clients to improve application performance.
  • Establishing the root causes of application errors, and escalating serious concerns to the Senior Engineer.
  • Keeping a record of configuration changes and scheduling application updates.
  • Documenting processes and monitoring application performance metrics.
  • Providing front-end support to clients and colleagues in other departments.
  • Execution of DB scripts/extracts as needed.
  • Work with multiple teams for successful resolution of issues and incidents.
  • Providing on-call support.
  • Open to flexible working conditions including after-hours scheduled application maintenance and support.

Qualifications


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or computer engineering or similar.
  • 2-4 years of experience supporting enterprise-level business applications.
  • Extensive experience in an application support role.
  • Broad working knowledge of Oracle, SQL, MYSQL and RDBMS – including PL/SQL stored procedures, complex joins, database queries, functions, triggers, packages, and complex analytical and financial reports.
  • Broad knowledge of Linux and Windows technologies. Good shell scripting experience is a must.
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Elastic Search.
  • Demonstrated experience of working on transactional, available, and scalable business critical systems.
  • Good understanding of software architecture, understanding component and application breakdown and interaction.
  • Commercial awareness, knowledge of or experience in working in the financial services industry is a plus.
  • Excellent understanding of software systems and technology.
  • Good understanding of software support team functions and a solid understanding of the end-to-end application development process.
