Job Summary:
The Capital Engineer will be responsible for managing capital projects, including green field investments, new equipment installations, equipment upgrades, and facility expansions. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, project management skills, and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage capital projects from concept to completion, including equipment procurement, installation, and start-up
Develop project plans, schedules, and budgets, and monitor progress against these plans
Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including Operations, Maintenance, Quality, and Safety, to ensure successful project execution
Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses to evaluate project proposals and make recommendations to management
Develop and maintain project documentation, including project charters, design specifications, and equipment manuals
Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements and company policies
Provide technical expertise and support to project teams and plant personnel
Participate in the development of capital budgets and long-range capital plans
Continuously evaluate and improve project management processes and tools
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering
7+ years of experience in capital project management in a food or chemical manufacturing environment
Strong technical skills in equipment design, installation, and start-up
Excellent project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Familiarity with regulatory requirements (e.g. OSHA) for food and chemical manufacturing
