Cashier / Restaurant Front of House [South Africa]


 

We are searching for an engaging and committed cashier to greet our customers with a smile. The cashier will be required to inform customers of special offers, take orders, and handle sales transactions.

Responsible for performing all money transactions between the store and the customers. On a daily basis, also needing to balance the till, order change and participate in cash pick-ups, issue receipts, refunds or change due to customers on a daily basis.

The following working conditions are anticipated:

  • Shift based schedule – 8 hours per shift.
  • Work schedule: 6 shifts per week.
  • Remuneration: Market related / hourly based.

Responsibilities

  • Customer engagement – ensuring outstanding customer service.
  • Receive customer orders.
  • Packaging and serving customers their orders.
  • Operate point of sale equipment.
  • Accurately ring up cash registers and accurately maintain all payment measures. Able to work at a fast pace without error and able to issue the right amount of change.
  • Ability to order change before the change runs low and in the correct quantities.
  • Cleaning service and seating areas.
  • Empty trash, sanitise work areas and utensils at all times (during shift and follow opening and closing checklist).

Minimum Requirements

The ideal candidate will have the following background and competencies:

  • Drive-Through restaurant experience advantageous.
  • Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.
  • Previous experience as a cashier – minimum of 2 years’ experience will be advantageous.
  • Must be able to provide contactable references.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: From R25.42 per hour

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Experience:

  • Restaurant management: 1 year (Required)

Expected Start Date: 2023/07/03
