Davali Thoroughbreds is located in the lower Hunter Valley of NSW and we are seeking a full time, experienced Horse Trainer to join our team. We are looking for someone who is passionate and enthusiastic about the industry and who has the desire to play a key role in the ongoing care of our broodmares, youngstock and spellers.
The role includes but is not limited to:
· Handling horses of all ages on the farm
· Training and educating horses
· Performing health checks and maintaining horse treatment records
· Treating and reporting of injuries and illnesses
· Working closely with our vet and farrier
· Responsibility for feeding and watering horses
· Maintaining clean and safe stable facilities
· Maintaining clean and safe paddocks
The successful applicant will:
· Have sound knowledge of the day-to-day operations of a broodmare farm
· Have at least three years’ experience in a similar role
· Provide suitable references for their experience
· Have excellent observations skills
· Have initiative and attention to detail
· Be able to relocate to the lower Hunter Valley
