Education Office

The Education Office (EdO) is one of the Professional Services units at SSE. We are currently 54 staff members working in EDO. We function as a Hub in the SSE journey. We provide and develop professional academic support for all stakeholders and students (BSc, MSc, PhD) during their SSE journey. It includes assessment, program management, scholarships, international collaborations, and quality measurements, academic support, central course and exam coordination, degrees, and certificates.

Job Description

We are looking for an Academic Advisor to join our team at Academic Guidance Office (AGO). As an Academic Advisor at SSE, you and your colleagues will offer guidance and support to all students of our Bachelor's and Master's programs. AGO is also responsible for the coordination of special pedagogical support. We work closely together with the Student Union with projects concerning the student’s well-being during their time at SSE.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Experience from academic counselling,
  • Studie- och yrkesvägledarexamen, Degree of Bachelor of Arts in Study and Career Guidance,
  • Previous experience from and a great interest in digital ways of working,
  • The skills and be comfortable with offering qualified guidance in both English and Swedish,
  • Good computer skills, chiefly with office programs,
  • Excellent written and oral skills in English,
  • Excellent written and oral skills in Swedish.

Meritorious:

  • Experience from academic counselling from university-level studies,
  • Experience from working with NAIS,
  • Experience and interest in working with questions related to students with special pedagogical support
  • Experience from working with student health issues.
  • Experience from coordinating projects and events

As a person

This is a role where you will be able to take initiative and it is important that you are structured and comfortable working autonomously. Since you will be working with students that might be going through tough times, you need to have a strong empathic ability and integrity. Your ability to collaborate and be service-minded is essential since you will be working with a lot of different stakeholders and have many points of contact.

This is a full-time, permanent position located in Stockholm. Preferred starting date as soon as possible with the consideration of any period of notice.
