Role Purpose:
Our diverse team is accountable for the design, development, deployment, and operations of a device and network analytics solution including a Big Data platform, a rich web frontend, and mobile smartphone-based client software. The solution is a key element of Vodafone’s customer care and network performance and optimization strategy and operated in about 20 markets across the Vodafone international footprint.
Key Accountabilities and Decision Ownership:
- Ability to interpret high level architecture roadmap, user requirements, and design guidelines and convert them into design specifications and execute on them in a self-contained manner
- Work closely and collaboratively with the team and other stakeholders on continuously improving the working model for optimising the results in terms of quality, on-time delivery, and working environment
- Adhere to coding standards and best practices
- Testing the output of the own work and work along with QA team to fix defects; report/log defects and chase resolution
- Contribute to the delivery of high-quality end-to-end service by ensuring successful roll-out, configuration, integration and testing of the operated applications
Core Competencies, Knowledge and Experience:
- Deep understanding, profound technical background and preferably several years’ experience in software development, ideally for large-scale data processing enterprise applications
- Hands on experience with agile software development, DevOps team setups and applying agile practices in enterprise environments
- Good communication skills, proactive mindset, and capacity to learn and work independently, proven problem solving and innovation abilities.
Must Have Technical / Professional Qualifications:
- Technical degree level (B.Sc. or M.Sc.) in a related area, in particular Information Technology, Computer Science, or Communications
- Profound knowledge and hands-on experience in cloud-based big data technologies, ideally Google Cloud Platform (including BigQuery, PubSub)
- Applicable knowledge and hands-on experience in big data technologies, ideally Hadoop, Cloudera Impala, Kafka
- Programming experience in Java, C# or similar, as well as standard frameworks such as Spring Boot, ASP.NET Core, and similar
- Applicable knowledge of web-based and service-based architectures (REST)
- Applicable knowledge of web security standards
- Profound knowledge of agile development / continuous integration processes and tools (JIRA, Confluence, BitBucket, Git, Jenkins, etc.)
- At least 2 years work experience in software development of large-scale data processing enterprise applications.
